What I liked
The pay was good for an entry level job.
What I wish was different
Nothing.
Advice
Gel insoles are highly recommended because you will be standing for 10 hours a day. The first few days are rough, as your body is not used to the rigorous activity. Bring your own lunch. The food they sell in the breaks rooms and food truck are overpriced.

June - August 2019 • Garland, TX
What I liked
The pay was good comparatively to other summer jobs
What I wish was different
Honestly working in the warehouse was terrible. There was no A/C, the supervisors were super rude, and people passed out frequently. The expectations were way way unreasonable.
Advice
If you really need the money, the shifts were 3-4 hours and I worked first thing in the morning and was paid weekly. The money was great and has been super helpful, but I will not sugar coat when I say this job is absolutely awful.

Warehouse Associate
November 2017 • DuPont, WA
What I liked
The benefits are pretty good. If you are a good worker and kind, the employers are understanding. It's hard work, but sometimes it's good.
What I wish was different
Their Rate system would be nice if they didn't make it higher, but they did make a few changes that aren't too bad.
Advice
It's hard work, you can get worn out. If you understand how to properly diet, such as getting enough protein intake, vitamins, staying well hydrated, doing your stretches, properly exercise, and staying motivated will get you through this.

Human Resources Intern

What I liked
I liked the fact that I was given hands on experience to learn what my day to day life in my career field would be like. It helped me understand what HR in a large company entails.
What I wish was different
Amazon is a large company so it is constantly opening new warehouses. I just wish my internship was in a more seasoned warehouse as I didn’t have as much support being placed in a new warehouse.
Advice
Get a head start on your project. If the people in your warehouse can’t help, reach out to those in other places.

Warehouse Associate
April - November 2019 • San Bernardino, CA
What I liked
I liked working with my coworkers and getting to experience how a warehouse operates in a logistics setting. Amazon is the biggest online retailer and I am glad I got the opportunity to work in the fulfillment center to be part of their team. I enjoyed getting to hear the different stories of my coworkers and why they started working for Amazon. Some just worked for the extra money or were in college and others to support their families. I worked this job over the summer while I was taking classes at CSUSB. I quit in Nov. while I was focusing for midterms and finals. I needed to focus on school to pass my classes and I'm glad I did. In Dec 7, I graduated with my bachelor's in marketing.
What I wish was different
I wish I got to be in a leadership position for Amazon. Amazon does not acknowledge regular warehouse associates. Once you go inside the building, you scan your badge, go to your spot, and start working. My job was to unload the packages from the trailers and put them in the conveyors. Sometimes the packages would be really heavy and I had to sort them in different pallets. I would be doing this for 4-5 hours. The job is really labor intensive and in my opinion not worth working over a long duration. There was a lot of room for accidents to occur, I could have easily broken my back carrying and lifting packages for a certain period of time. I also wish they could have checked up on me more frequently to see if i was ok, since I was working in one of the hardest places in the warehouse.
Advice
My piece of advice is that if someone wants to work for this job, then it is fine if it is part-time. I can not imagine working full-time, by the end you would probably be dead inside. The things that were worth the effort was getting to socialize with new people and getting the experience of working for a fortune 500 company. I was curious how Amazon operated with its warehouses so that is one of the reasons on which I applied. I had to also motivate myself and be positive during work because I felt a negative aura during my time there. There is no communication while at work, just gloomy-looking associates silently working in their posts.

Area Manager Intern
May - July 2019 • Tracy, CA
What I liked
One of the biggest things I enjoyed at Amazon was the working environment. Everyone works long hours but it goes by quickly as there is always something that has your attention. It was fun! I enjoyed working on my project and getting to know the associates and other area managers. It is an experience I will not forget.
What I wish was different
My internship heavily focused on a project. I would have preferred less emphasis on the project and more on learning the job. I also think a group project, or several intern projects that relate would have been a slightly better experience.
Advice
Do not be scared to ask questions or seek help. I found myself in situations where I had to speak with someone from another department. I was reluctant at first as I did not know how to approach or who to speak to in some cases. I learned that I had to put myself out there and ask around to get the help I needed.
