The pay was great. A ton of hours. I was consistently scheduled for 50 and 60 hr weeks due to demand.
What I wish was different

Advice
Do not work night shift. Working from 6 pm - 4:30am kills your whole day.

Area Manager
June - August 2019 • Fresno, CA
What I liked
I really liked how Amazon made us feel part of the time right away, we were handed a big project from the start and we never felt like a traditional intern.
What I wish was different
I wish there would have been more time to learn the system before having to work on the project. It was hard balancing learning what everything was and trying to make an impact at the same time.
Advice
Ask questions, don’t be afraid to ask for help, let your manager know if something is unclear for you, and make sure that you have fun more than you’re stressing out because the time goes by fast.

EH&S Intern
June - August 2019 • Livonia, MI
What I liked
It was a great experience to learn what an entry level job is like in the safety career for general industry. I got to learn just how strenuous the work hours can be for the associates there during peak and what I can do to help them during this time.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have had taken all my other statistics classes before ongoing the project I had to complete for the company. It went very well regardless having just my first statistics class.
Advice
Definitely try to take your statistics classes before completing an internship. They are the core of what you will need to convince management to spend their money on your project. All your other foundational classes will give you the skills and thought processes you need to go through to be successful! The concepts may get repetitive, but they are integral!

Amazon Warehouse Associate
July - September 2019 • Eastvale, CA
What I liked
The pay was good for an entry level job.
What I wish was different
Nothing.
Advice
Gel insoles are highly recommended because you will be standing for 10 hours a day. The first few days are rough, as your body is not used to the rigorous activity. Bring your own lunch. The food they sell in the breaks rooms and food truck are overpriced.

June - August 2019 • Garland, TX
What I liked
The pay was good comparatively to other summer jobs
What I wish was different
Honestly working in the warehouse was terrible. There was no A/C, the supervisors were super rude, and people passed out frequently. The expectations were way way unreasonable.
Advice
If you really need the money, the shifts were 3-4 hours and I worked first thing in the morning and was paid weekly. The money was great and has been super helpful, but I will not sugar coat when I say this job is absolutely awful.

Warehouse Associate
November 2017 • DuPont, WA
What I liked
The benefits are pretty good. If you are a good worker and kind, the employers are understanding. It's hard work, but sometimes it's good.
What I wish was different
Their Rate system would be nice if they didn't make it higher, but they did make a few changes that aren't too bad.
Advice
It's hard work, you can get worn out. If you understand how to properly diet, such as getting enough protein intake, vitamins, staying well hydrated, doing your stretches, properly exercise, and staying motivated will get you through this.

Human Resources Intern
June - August 2019 • Sparrows Point, MD
What I liked
I liked the fact that I was given hands on experience to learn what my day to day life in my career field would be like. It helped me understand what HR in a large company entails.
What I wish was different
Amazon is a large company so it is constantly opening new warehouses. I just wish my internship was in a more seasoned warehouse as I didn’t have as much support being placed in a new warehouse.
Advice
Get a head start on your project. If the people in your warehouse can’t help, reach out to those in other places.
