Store Associate Rx

May 2018 • Pleasantville, NJ

What I liked

The team I work with is amazing, and it makes me want to work harder. There are many regulars coming to the front store and pharmacy. The demographic is diverse, and I get to meet a variety of people. The hours are extremely flexible with school as well.

What I wish was different

The store manager was relocated, which made things a tad uneasy for both the team and the customers.

Advice

Working at CVS requires consistency. There is a routine and a set amount of responsibilities whether you are working front store or pharmacy. There are also "homework" modules with due dates to complete.

Cashier

May 2019 • Waltham, MA

What I liked

I liked having a variety of tasks to do on the job. Some places have cashiers only do cashier work or front end work but at CVS I am able to do a little bit of everything. I get to work on the floor doing price changes, stock shelves, putting up sale signs, and putting security stickers on high value or medicinal merchandise. I also get to work at the register and the front end which includes ringing customers up, cleaning, and tending to the self check out machines. Even though retail in general can be stressful, CVS is pretty nice to work for as a cashier because you get to do different tasks and not just one.

What I wish was different

The one thing I wish that would have been different was if I had the ability to do a variety of tasks every shift, sometimes not all tasks will be available depending on what needs to be done in the store on certain days.

Advice

My piece of advice for the experience of working at CVS would be that if you don't mind retail, you don't mind hard work, and you like having a variety of things to do then CVS or any other store would be a place to work for.

Sales Associate

June - August 2020 • Seaside Heights, NJ

What I liked

Management was very professional and accommodating, you got the opportunity to learn a lot of things around the store. They are very willing to work with flexible hours, and with the carepass program you have the opportunity to earn extra money.

What I wish was different

This particular location was extremely crowded due to its proximity to the beach, so at times it could be overwhelmingly busy. That's something you come to expect working anywhere in the shore area, though.

Advice

Honestly, the hardest part was learning where everything was located in the store. I recommend walking around the store any chance you get, especially in the beginning,

Cashier

November 2019 • Salem, MA

What I liked

The ability to get more hours when possible.

What I wish was different

I don't think anything could have been different but also considering I have for for CVS over a year now nothing has changed in terms of my experience with the job.

Advice

If you want to work for CVS you have to be able to be hard-working, fast-paced, and patient otherwise you'll find yourself flustered in an environment that could be easily stressful if you are not prepared.

Certified Pharmacy Technician

October 2017 • Terrell, TX

What I liked

Interacting with different types of patients and learning from each one of them. Everyone has a different personality, and even those who aren’t as happy can teach you a lot.

What I wish was different

I wish it hadn’t had been so stressful. With better management a job will be so much easier. I wish scheduling would’ve been more flexible as well.

Advice

It’s a terrible job based on management and how much they expect from one person. Besides that, a great job to learn about different disorders/diseases and what drug treats each one of them. This has came in really handy with some of my classes.
