Texas Roadhouse

Restaurant Server

May - August 2018 • Suffolk, VA

What I liked

This was my 3rd summer with the company and this year I was able to start training for a management position.

What I wish was different

The job income is very inconsistent; it depends almost entirely on the guests. You can deliver the best service they will ever receive and not get just compensation.

Advice

Everyone should be a restaurant server. Everyone. You gain a greater appreciation for all of the small roles in every business and learn how to work with a large variety of different people.

What I liked

I liked how my hours didn't start till at the earliest 4:00, so I always had the mornings and early afternoons free to spend how I wanted.

Silverware

May - August 2018 • Gilbert, AZ

What I liked

I loved the atmosphere- the managers were great, the fellow employees, and of course the customers

What I wish was different

I wish I didn’t have to come back up to Flagstaff and leave them behind.

Advice

Definitely jump out of your comfort zone. If you believe that your a very shy person, get a job that seems so unlike you that no one would recognize you.

Restaurant Server

December 2018 • Utica, MI

What I liked

I really enjoy the atmosphere. My coworkers are great and are the reason I still work here.

What I wish was different

I wouldn't change anything.

Advice

Going into a job as a server you will deal with a lot of different people. At times some of the people will be rude no matter how nice you are and some customers are the nicest people you will ever meet. Go into your job with an open mind and great big smile on your face.
