I liked getting to meet so many new people, each day was an opportunity to do something new, and you get discounted food.

The managing was subpar in how they treated staff, but still good at running the restaurant and taking care of customers.

Advice

Be prepared for rude people to come in, it doesn't happen often but you will have tables that will find any reason to blame you for something.

What I liked

I liked that the job promotes a strong sense of teamwork. Being in a restaurant each position depends on another in order to get the job done. Or, in order to better create a memorable guest experience. The job also offers a lot of room for growth when working with different groups of people. I grew in my understanding of how to compromise, work under pressure, and endurance when working long shifts.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had got the job sooner honestly and truly. It provides so much room for growth and opportunities that can help you grow in the future. There are a lot of life skills that are obtained as well.

Advice

My advice is to be prepared for long hours on your feet. It’s a lot of walking and talking to different groups of people. Be able to keep a level head and be slow to anger.

Well I still work there because they work with my schedule 100%. I have mondays, tuesdays, and wednesdays off so i have time to focus on school. They really have my back

You have to be good at talking to people even if you are antisocial by nature like me. I have great people skills and you have to genuinely care about the conversation you have with them.

Very demanding job, physically and mentally exhausting. Money can be inconsistent due to business volume and short shifts.

Its been a great experience and I plan on staying with Outback until I graduate. Unfortunately I have to work full time hours and be a full time student, so I need to make as much money in as short a period as I can so this is the perfect job for me
