I loved the leadership skills and the opportunity to get to learn all aspects of the store and perform different tasks each day.

I feel like some of my leadership made the experience more of a clean up job, but others made it very educational

This is very self-directed, so ask for help from your associates. There is so much to learn from the people who have been there longer.

I liked how immersive the internship was and how I was allowed to learn and participate in every different process that goes on in the store. The store I was at always had a great culture and I felt very accepted and like a part of their team.
What I wish was different
I wish the internship could have been longer. It only lasted for 7 weeks and I felt like everything was so tightly crammed together that it would have been nice to have a few additional weeks to really solidify my learning.
Advice
If you're considering doing this internship but are hesitant because it's in retail dont let that hold you back. I was able to be invovled in so many different processes that I didn't even know occured in retail stores.

I wished that the staff schedule was done better because some days you didn’t have enough people and other days you had too many.
Advice
This is a fast pace environment and you have to be able to hold yourself accountable. Most of the time you are told a general job to do and it is your job to make sure that you keep yourself busy.

My coworkers were amazing people. We all go along so well and helped each other in making sure everything was the way it was supposed to be. I loved always being busy and being able to help people with what they needed.
What I wish was different
I wish on busier days they would have had more people scheduled because it is hard to clear fitting rooms when you keep getting pulled off the floor to check out.
Advice
This is a very fast pace environment and you have to be good at what you do because a lot of people count on you. If the work isn’t do to the quality expected you hold everyone back and you can’t go home until it is done.

What I liked
Over the eight weeks, you learn every store function from opening to closing. What I liked about this internship was the support you get from not only your managers, but from the rest of the associates. Everyone is a resource to help you learn and grow in this internship.
What I wish was different
What’s unique about this internship is how much autonomy you have to complete your tasks. However, I wish more structure was given for the day-to-day objectives of this role.
Advice
As a Store Management Intern, you are treated like one of the store executives, so own it! Be confident and take advantage of learning all that you can from not only your fellow store executives, but from the rest of your team, as well.
