What I liked

I really appreciated the fact that I was exposed to a broad view of what responsibilities are for a hospital administrator.

What I wish was different

Finding ways to contribute as an intern can often be difficult and I think having certain expectations going into the interniship is important.

Advice

Always look for ways to be productive and helpful even if it means you are shoveling snow or doing filing because it's all part of the opportunity.

CNA

April - August 2019 • St. George, UT

What I liked

I liked being on the hospital setting and being able to see what it is like. Also, it helped me realize that I did not want to be a nurse.

What I wish was different

I wish I worked on the floor more often. Sitting with one patient during a shift is exhausting and boring.

Advice

Make sure you bring stuff to do because sometimes you are not busy at all. However, don't plan on getting anything done because you are at work and sometimes it is busy depending on your patients.

Endoscopy lab tech

November 2017 - September 2018 • Logan, UT

What I liked

The company treats me very well and gives me opportunities to continue learning. Not only that but they work to create a comfortable and safe environment. The location of the hospital is great for where I live and go to school. The physicians are very approachable and relatable, and our management is outstanding! My manager works with schedules no matter your responsibilities. Even though each person in the hospital is (in a way) replaceable, they make you feel irreplaceable, and they invest in you in the same way. They provide retirement and isnsurance benefits as well and help you plan for the future. There is great job security for jobs offered at the hospital.

What I wish was different

I can’t think of anything specific.

Advice

I would recommend a job at intermountain healthcare!
