I loved doing meaningful advocacy and educational work, and feeling like I was really making a change in the state of Indiana.
What I wish was different
As with most nonprofit work, I had to figure out a lot on my own; there wasn't as much top-down organization and direction as I had been used to in previous positions.
Advice
Be self-directed, take initiative, and don't be afraid to propose new ideas!
