People! Everyone at the School of Public Health in Austin is kind, helpful, and brilliant! I work with Dr. Byrd-Williams on Maternal and Child Health projects and highly recommend her. Benefits are good - as a single mother I was especially grateful for back-up childcare reimbursement (10 days/ year). Compensation is not great, but GRA are extremely underpaid nation-wide. The position qualified me for in-state tuition, so that helped a ton.
What I wish was different
Higher compensation.

I wish there had been more parking and transit options near the school.
Advice
I recommend taking a look at the website of the school to understand its structure. The school is very unique in that it is one institution with six regional campuses.
