The City of Los Angeles - Bureau of Engineering

About The City of Los Angeles - Bureau of Engineering

The Bureau of Engineering (BOE) is the City's lead agency for the planning, design and construction management of public buildings, infrastructure and open space projects.

Our projects include municipal buildings, such as police and fire stations, convention centers, recreational facilities, cultural establishments, bridges, street and transit projects, stormwater systems, and wastewater facilities.

Open space projects include the development of parks and the restoration of wetlands. We manage the permits for construction in the public right-of-way and the City's state-of-the-art online mapping system.

The Bureau of Engineering’s projects are nationally recognized for their environmental sustainability and design. We fully support the City's goals of creating a prosperous, livable, and safe place for all residents and businesses.

“I liked the responsibility that my supervisors gave me. Drawing up plans on AutoCAD for real projects with my name on the plans along with the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering Logo. I liked the flexibility in my schedule when it came to studying for midterms. ”
