-The training was very helpful
-We had small groups with other Corps members, which were very helpful for building community and we were able rely on each other for supports
-The program was really well designed, with choice of books and teaching focus. It was fun for both myself and the students
-We had Reading Specialists supervising us who were very helpful and encouraging
What I wish was different
This summer had unique struggles because of the pandemic. Communicating with the community organizations to know if kids were going to be absent was difficult.
Advice
Prepare and practice a lot before your lesson so that you know what you are doing and are familiar enough with the material to be able to adapt when you need to. Most of all, have fun with it! That will make it more enjoyable for the kids.
