Saggio Technology

Assistant to the CMO

June - August 2023 • St. Louis, MO

What I liked

Working at Saggio Technology, I really appreciate the flexibility of the job. Dan Ford encouraged me to complete multiple tasks that weren't under my job description. This job allows for personal growth, manageable hours, and a positive work environment.

What I wish was different

With this job, I only wished that I would communicate with my fellow colleagues more. My job was strictly 1-on-1 with the CMO. But I feel like I am missing out on networking opportunities.

Advice

One piece of advice would be to go for it. You are bound to find a job title that you like or that goes with your major. Instead of hesitating, I say experience the internship at Saggio!

Content Writer

What I liked

So far, the time I have spent in my internship with Saggio Technology has been one of the most informative experiences of my academic career. As a content writer, my primary focus is writing and designing social media posts for the company. Learning how to design social media posts for platforms like Pinterest and LinkedIn has been really fun. In addition, I get to improve my writing skills in an encouraging environment while receiving support from my fellow interns and our supervisor, Dan Ford. I love my creative freedom and appreciate the opportunity to learn more about Saggio Technology and writing for social media!

What I wish was different

Advice

Do not be afraid to share any ideas you have! Whether it is an idea for a new social media post or an idea you have for the company or the internship, always share your ideas. You are given a lot of independence in this internship, so take advantage of it and do not be afraid to succeed!

Marketing Intern

August - December 2022 • Indianapolis, IN

What I liked

Being at home doing an internship is different then the usual being in person. The great thing about it is that nothing affects the connections you make with individuals in your group. Starting out you should have high expectations for yourself no matter the setting. I grow from the people around me, I don’t compare myself to anyone in the internship. It is easy for me to ask questions from my peers and supervisor. You will make mistakes, but will learn and then they will become lessons. Recovering in the long run is what matters.Taking self assessments and notes on how you're doing and feeling is important, being honest with yourself during the process is how you get through the tough times. It is easy to get lost being online because we all have different backgrounds in technology.Being in a internship is a fast pace environment. There is always someone available though, that’s what I like about it. Saggio Technology brings out my creativity and inspires me in the work field I am interested in. -M’Lei Woodard

What I wish was different

All I wish is that it was in person. I met some great people and wish I met them in person.

Advice

Stay focused and be more creative every week you make a new piece.

Editor Intern

June 2023 • North Vernon, IN

What I liked

I really like gaining experience editing. I edit for 5 interns each week. One thing that was really cool about this internship was that there were quests, and we are encouraged to try things we might not have experience doing. There were different categories of quests such as creating videos, writing, etc. If I had to choose the thing I like most, though, it would be the friendly, approachable culture of the company. My feedback was valued, and I felt like I did not have to hold back when giving it. I also really liked that the internship was remote and flexible.

What I wish was different

There is a lot of great things about this internship, and there is not much I would change. When anything has come up that we wish was different, usually it just involves a conversation where we give feedback, and our thoughts are taken into consideration, especially considering the summer semester was the first time the editor internship was offered.

Advice

Don't be scared to share feedback or ask questions. Dan is always very open to receiving feedback. A few times, we had votes in our weekly meetings about whether we wanted to implement someone's idea. In addition, I was having problems with one of my video quests, and Dan walked me through how to fix the problem. Internships can feel intimidating, but if you're looking for a place to learn, grow, and share your ideas, this is the company for you.

What I liked

My internship at Saggio Technology as a Content Writer was genuinely enriching. One aspect that truly stood out was the friendly and welcoming atmosphere fostered within the company. From day one, I felt like a part of the team, and this sense of belonging greatly enhanced my overall internship experience. The effective communication channels established for remote working also deserve praise. Despite working from different locations, the team ensured that we were always on the same page. This not only made collaboration seamless but also contributed to a productive and stress-free work environment. Another highlight of my time at Saggio Technology was the engaging community of colleagues who were always ready to help and inspire creativity. Whether I needed assistance with a project or simply wanted to brainstorm ideas, there was always someone eager to lend a hand. This sense of camaraderie created a motivating and stimulating work environment.

What I wish was different

While my internship at Saggio Technology has been largely positive, if I were to suggest an improvement, it would be to explore more opportunities for in-person interactions. Although the remote working setup is efficient, having face-to-face meetings and gatherings could have further enriched team dynamics and fostered even stronger connections among colleagues.

Advice

My advice to future interns at Saggio Technology would be to actively engage with the supportive community that surrounds you. Don't hesitate to reach out for help or collaborate on projects, as the team is incredibly welcoming and eager to assist. Additionally, make an effort to build relationships beyond work tasks, as the bonds you form with your colleagues will not only enhance your internship but also provide valuable connections for the future. In conclusion, my internship at Saggio Technology was a rewarding journey. The friendly and welcoming atmosphere, effective remote communication, and an engaging community made it a fantastic experience. I'm grateful for the opportunity and the valuable skills I gained during my time here.

Social Media Marketing Content Writer

August 2022 • Davenport, IA

What I liked

I liked the interview process at Saggio Technology as the interviewer asked me simple questions. One question that the interviewer asked was the following: why do you want this role? I answered him by saying that I want this role because through this opportunity I will be exposed to different work and projects that will help me apply what I have learned in my Social Media Marketing course even more. Through this process, I enjoyed and learned how to create easy to read objective reviews. Finally, I liked the discussion and disclosures that I had with my leader Dan by asking him questions about the interview process, job timings, job attributes, and job duties.

What I wish was different

What I wish had been different, as a Social Media Marketing Content Writer, was the chat section under Microsoft Teams software would have worked.

Advice

One piece of advice that I would share to a future intern is to work with grit and not lose hope. If you get constructive criticism from Dan as doing any task is a learning process. Rather you should take your boss's advice and do a better job in future work and projects in the long run. I would also advise you to be resourceful, independent, and use internet and watch videos to deliver quality work.

What I liked

Saggio Technology and its staff promote a creative, independent environment that allows for you to develop on the skills that you believe will help you excel in your field. The culture allows for students to follow a more structured week in terms of content output, if that is preferable for that employee, or to explore their creative outlets through the utilization of unique methods to increase audience engagement and impressions. Many tasks are completed for internal and external audiences and collaboration between interns is encouraged. Overall, the internship is great experience for accustoming oneself to a work atmosphere, and Dan, Saggio's guide, is there to help you along the way.

What I wish was different

I feel like time slots in regards to the daily schedule could have been allocated a bit differently to help make room for other aspects of the work day. This can be solved in a multitude of different ways and is a relatively easy fix. Other than that, I have no real complaints, the experience was fantastic.

Advice

I would say to try to remain flexible and reach that creative mindset. Sometimes, you will need to think outside the box or try to come up with some engaging ideas. Come to the job prepared and ready to try things out!

Marketing Intern

May - August 2022 • North Vernon, IN

What I liked

Working with Saggio Technology was a great experience. This was my first marketing internship and going into it I was very nervous. Working with Dan and my internship group put all nerves to bed, it was an incredible environment and I have no regrets in working with Saggio Technology. I learned about content creation, social media analytics, and scheduling content. It was a test of organization, effort, and creativity. I enjoyed it.

What I wish was different

I know this is out of Saggio's control, however being able to work with a Marketing Budget would have been an incredibly valuable experience for this internship, however it just was not possible. With budget allocated to promoting our posts, I believe our accounts could have been even more successful!

Advice

Have a positive attitude, put your best foot forward, and be sincere. The rest will come easily!

What I liked

Some highlights about the experience: -Social media management -Engaged and active teams -Great leadership/management -Great way to learn tools like Canva -Brand management -Friendly environment

What I wish was different

The internship itself is not implicitly data-analysis-oriented, since it mostly focuses on the social media aspects. Would love to see more data-driven projects, but this is just a preference, since many interns might not have that experience going into the job. Overall, absolutely a wonderful experience!

Advice

Think outside the box and don't be afraid to take risks!

What I liked

Working for Saggio Technology gives you a great insight into your future job. The process is very simple; apply on handshake, hand in your resume, you will speak to one of their leaders, and wait to see if you qualify. The interview process was more comfortable than any other interview you will get. They really want to know about you as a person rather than just being a cog-in machine. A business such as theirs, shows they care for their people. When starting the internship, expect to work in teams with people who have great ideas to expand your creativity and knowledge through a marketing lens.
