Internal Audit and Financial Advisory Intern
June - August 2017 • Boston, MA
What I liked
I loved the people and the culture at Protiviti. From day one everyone was extremely friendly and interested in getting to know me personally. In addition, everyone supported me and assisted me through the sharp learning curve during the internship. I never felt there was no one I could approach to ask a question. In regard to the work, I was placed on a team of four where I was given a lot of responsibility and met with clients frequently. Great experience.
What I wish was different
I wish I had the chance to explore other departments (solutions) of the company. I was placed in the Internal Audit and Financial Advisory solution, but was more interested in solutions such as the Business Performance Improvements solution.
Advice
Never stop networking. Even when you start your internship, continue to reach out to professionals, especially internally, to learn more about the different types of jobs, positions, and work there is out there.

IAFA Technology Intern
June - August 2017 • Fort Lauderdale, FL
What I liked
Protiviti takes good care of their interns. The training is done at a nice resort while allowing for interns from all over the country to network with each other. There are intern events and happy hours. The people at the company are great and fun to work with. And the projects you are assigned are real work that an actual consultant there would do, which gives the intern great hands-on experience.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have even more varied projects to work on in different industries.
Advice
You have to always keep in mind your goals and what you want out of your career. Do you want to work in the industry? To you want to live in that city? Do you like the people you work with and the overall culture of the firm.
The diversity of consulting for multiple clients throughout the summer. I got to be on site at four different clients' offices.
What I wish was different
I wish it had not been as much sitting at a desk every day.
Advice
Ask as many questions as possible and try to form personal relationships with all coworkers and clients as well. Additionally, take every opportunity to meet with upper level employees and management.
