Digital Marketing Intern

May - August 2024 • Millburn, NJ

What I liked

Working at Premiere Creative has been an excellent opportunity. It was great to work on meaningful projects and see them published. For example, I've gotten to publish multiple blogs. I also enjoyed the diversity of the projects we worked on. Working on projects like blog writing, HTLM, social media auditing, content creation, and more was great. This internship definitely will put you a step-ahead of other students in the digital marketing field.

What I wish was different

My only complaint would be the occasional lack of work. While this wasn't always an issue, there were times when I wished I had more tasks to complete. Additionally, I would have liked to learn more about client relations. It would have been neat to see how we managed our interactions with clients.

Advice

Like most things, you get out what you put in. If there is something you'd like to learn, make sure to ask. That's how I ended up learning HTLM and WordPress.

Digital Marketing Intern

May - August 2022 • Millburn, NJ

What I liked

I enjoyed this internship over the summer. When I came in I had a lot to learn and John and J.J. were great at setting up a learning environment. Over the summer, I worked with the other interns in writing assignments which helped to improve my writing along with gathering ideas and collaborating with the other interns. Being able to work with real clients and getting published was exciting and empowering.

What I wish was different

This was remote and I wish there would have been more of a social aspect with the other interns. This internship is also unpaid and more of a part-time internship so even though the learning is amazing an internship that is full time could have more a deeper perspective.

Advice

Ask for what you want to learn. John is so accommodating and a wonderful teacher. If you want to learn how to do something he will do everything he can to make sure that you leave the internship with the skills for the future.

Business Development Intern

May - August 2022 • Victoria

What I liked

I liked how much autonomy I had over the course of the internship. Despite the fact that I was given a detailed schedule for how to follow up with leads, I could research any industry I found interesting. For example, I really enjoyed looking into DTC companies. I also got to choose geographic areas I was familiar with, like my college town. Because of the company's small size, I had the opportunity to work directly with the owner, who had an incredible amount of knowledge about digital marketing and sales. It was great to get on calls with clients from the very beginning, exposing me to the real challenges Premiere Creative faces when developing proposals.

What I wish was different

Working remotely was more challenging than expected. Although my mentor was extremely responsive via email, I would have liked the opportunity to work alongside co-workers so I could ask questions as needed. I had to be very proactive about managing my time and asking questions.

Advice

Ask to try new things! If there is one thing I regret, it is not going out of my way to learn about different elements of the business, like the digital marketing team, or the finance team. As a business development intern, there is lots of room for overlap between sales and marketing. I highly recommend exposing yourself to as much as you possibly can.

Digital Marketing Intern

May - August 2022 • Millburn, NJ

What I liked

In this internship, we had a large amount of responsibility. We were relied upon heavily and created real, tangible work for clients that could be immediately added to our portfolios. We received career and technical guidance equivalent to that of a college class. The lessons in SEO, Google Ads, blogging, keywords, and more allowed me to get a job in the digital marketing field before my internship was even completed. The experience gained is beyond valuable for anyone wanting to start off in advertising, digital marketing, social media, etc.

What I wish was different

Working remotely is difficult regardless of the situation, especially because I lived too far away to commute to the office. Not being paid also isn’t fun when we are creating work that Premiere’s clients use directly.

Advice

You truly get what you put into this internship. If you take the advice given to you on your blogs/content creation/etc. you will truly improve. I had no idea how to write blogs or create Pinterest ad campaigns before this internship, but I wrote blogs that garnered 200+ views within the first weeks of publishing and helped one of our clients grow organically by 183% through a Pinterest campaign. If you work hard, it will pay off and aid you far into your career future.
