“Being treated as an equal with many other excellent engineers developing software that directly affected the lives of people I know. I loved getting thrown in headfirst to the world of fintech and seeing first hand many of the friction points and negotiations going on between banks, financial apps and government regulators. They've been very flexible with allowing me to work part-time during the school year and given the explosive rate the company is growing I quickly was seen as fairly tenured and got the opportunity to help guide many new hires. Beyond that there has just been a lot of perks joining a unicorn startup. I got to take part in the yearly week long company-wide retreat to a resort in Mexico, I had several opportunities to fly out to the HQ in San Francisco expense paid. It was great just feeling like everything in my environment (the office, teammates, culture) were all setup for my success.”
