What I liked
PetDoors.com is still a relatively small company, which allows for constant interaction between all employees no matter what rank. Even working in the shop, which is separate from the office, I have the ability to talk with both the COO and CEO any time an issue arises. Ultimately, this aspect of the company has helped me feel like part of a family rather than a component of a machine.
Additionally, my specific position lends itself well to accommodating employees of differing skill levels. In the shop, everyone begins working the same duties, however, based on performance, attitude, and interest, it is easy to migrate towards various other tasks. A strong work ethic is clearly appreciated and rewarded.
Finally, PetDoors.com is extremely flexible with student schedules. Personally, I worked full-time for most of the summer, but I was able to get some time off for vacation. I now work part-time during school, however, I am constantly reminded by my boss that school comes first and I am welcome to reduce my hours if I become overloaded.
