Northwestern Office of Undergraduate Research

About Northwestern Office of Undergraduate Research

The Office of Undergraduate Research strives to integrate student learning with experiences in the world beyond the classroom.

We provide opportunities for undergraduates to do independent projects, putting classroom course work and academic theory into practice. OUR programs are open to students across Northwestern University, without restriction by school affiliation or major.

We advise and prepare undergraduates on how to find opportunities, how to work with faculty, and how to write research grant proposals.

We collaborate with Northwestern departments and units that support undergraduate research, seeking to benefit students through streamlined communication and coordinated resources.

“The URG office was so helpful, especially Peter Civetta, who helped me write my grant proposal and follow through with my project. Over all the resources with the office were so helpful and I couldn't have done any of it without them.”

“This is super part time and you can basically make your own schedule. You have time to do other work or projects if you want. ”
