What I liked

I loved the environment and how helpful and kind everyone was. Everyone was on the same page when it came to what we were there for, and the kids we worked with were just wonderful. Every day was so rewarding and so much fun!

What I wish was different

Regarding other co-workers, I wish that some of them hadn't brought their personal dilemmas with them to work as camp is all about the kids and the kids should be the absolute first priority. Other than that, everything was pretty much perfect besides how hot it was every day!

Advice

Have fun and let loose! Kids really do bring out the goofiness in someone and it's so much fun to connect with them in that sort of sense.

What I liked

I loved how I was consistently pushed to become better at my job and always allowed the opportunity to plan my own activities. I learned how to creatively and calmly solve problems on the spot. I also enjoyed the schedule. I was living close by to the camp so I worked only Monday to Friday from 8:30 am- 6pm, which is an option that is not always available at summer camps. I was not working as much as some of the other counselors, but I was still fully involved in camp life.

What I wish was different

I wish that there was more leeway for days off and travel, but at the same time it was fantastic to have such a consistent job and community for nearly the entire summer.
