I enjoyed the hands on practical experiences this position gave me. Working on remaking engineering drawings, helped my CREO/CAD skills to improve. Machining pieces and parts using a lathe, angle grinder, mill, etc. really gave me a working familiarity with each machine, and a working understanding of their limits / peculiarities. Probably the best part, was the satisfaction of a job well done, when a cart which would help people gain mobility was shipped off.
What I wish was different
I wish I picked up welding as a skill during my time there.
Advice
There are plenty of people willing to give hands on experience, you just have to be willing to ask. Most people want to share their trade with you.
