Medical Information Technology, Inc. (MEDITECH)

Employment Marketing Intern

June 2022 • Foxborough, MA

What I liked

My internship started in the summer, but was further extended to the school year! The company has been so flexible and willing to work around my school schedule - which has been amazing. I also loved how many different projects I was able to work on and even lead! Examples include creating and hosting virtual events for college students, assisting the AV and Communications team with filming and putting together three videos highlighting our company culture, writing multiple articles to be featured in the internal newsletter, and so much more. I have been able to take away so many skills and make connections with staff that I will continue to have throughout my career.

Advice

One piece of advice I would share with an intern is to always take advantage of networking opportunities. MEDITECH gives interns many opportunities to network with other staff through after work socials, company meetings, lunches with executives in the C-Suite, and more! Even if it is just chatting with the people that sit around you, every opportunity to connect is a great one.

What I liked

What I like about working at Meditech is the friendly environment. Everyone that I have talked to here has seemed really nice. What has stood out the moss is that Meditech plans staff social events for anyone in the company to come to. These social events allowed me to meet all my bosses and other co-workers which has made me feel more comfortable within my work space.

What I wish was different

Coming into the internship was crazy time for the group I was joining, so it made the start of the internship much harder to learn than it should have been. Things are more calm nowadays but the group was not in a position to take on an intern to train at the time.

Advice

Do not stress about going into your internship. When I was applying I was nervous that I would not be able to do what they wanted me to do. But they don't expect you to know everything, they just want to see what you are capable of doing by looking at the amount of effort you put in and your willingness to work. So don't think you are not good enough, put in the effort and you will succeed at any job or internship. Best of luck!

Benefits Intern

What I liked

I really enjoyed the work environment among my fellow coworkers at Meditech. Everyone is very helpful and friendly. My department is always willing to help me learn something new and keep me involved and busy. This experience helped me adjust to how an actual office workplace functions and I cant wait to begin working here as a full time employee!

What I wish was different

I wish that I had more responsibilities so that I could take some of the workload off of my coworkers. However, as an intern a learned a little bit of everything so now when I become a full time employee, I will be prepared to take on almost any job in my department

Advice

One piece of advice I would give about this job experience is to make good connections with coworkers and other staff because it will make asking for help easier and makes work more comfortable and interesting.

Digital Marketing Intern

June 2022 • Foxborough, MA

What I liked

I loved how welcoming everyone on the staff was. Specifically, the Marketing Team had a a pivotal impact on my experience at MEDITECH as everyone was eager to help me in any way and to answer any questions that I had.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had been able to interact with more of the staff, and develop relationships with more people.

Advice

Something that I learned in this experience is to ask questions. You're not expected to know everything so take this opportunity to learn as much as you can and show that you're engaged by asking informed questions.
