What I liked

I learned a lot about native plants, pollinators, and their connection with combatting climate change. I enjoyed working outside and seeing all kinds of different insects (dragonflies, ladybugs, butterflies, bees). I also liked the field trips we had around natural areas in Cambridge, such as Fresh Pond, Mount Auburn Cemetery, and the Alewife Reservation.

What I wish was different

At the end of the summer, we sometimes also had to work on several planting jobs in one day (each take several hours), making it extremely exhausting, especially with the heatwave. I wish that there was a certain time each day for lunch/break.

Advice

No prior knowledge needed! If you feel nervous because you don't know much about plants or pollinators, it is completely okay. Nature is your best teacher.
