I loved the people I worked with there and the level of respect I was treated with.
What I wish was different
I wish we had better communication among the hiring staff and the upper administration.
Advice
The best way to do this job is to put your co-workers first. You are a team and if you all prioritize each other the job will be a lot easier and a lot more enjoyable. When someone chooses to be selfish the entire system falls apart.

Advice
People might try to scare you away from this job by mentioning how dangerous the location is, but we had no instances of violence all summer. Another nearby facility, which I will not name, is reported to have had over 13 fights this season, some of which involved DCR employees. Springfield pool is plenty safe.

What I liked
I liked everything about it. The atmosphere with my colleagues and my bosses were incredible. Plus I got to be at the beach all day 5 days a week.
What I wish was different
Nothing I would not have changed anything about my experience.
Advice
This job is not easy, it’s ACTUAL lifeguarding. You do have to make rescues and this job is not for people that are not in good shape. It is physically tiring (lots of running and swimming)
