Having the hands-on experience was invaluable. The nursing staff were all happy to provide opportunities for learning, and were sure to get patient permission beforehand. The environment was generally wonderful and very conducive to learning.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have stayed longer and learned more - one summer feels so short!
Advice
If you have the opportunity, this is truly a wonderful experience. I learned how to interact with patients and within a team. The skills practice lost from COVID-19 was partially made up by the internship. I feel ready to move forward as a nurse after graduation.
