Interning at Lines for Life was a really amazing experience. I really likes getting to see what it looks like to be in prevention work. I feel like I got a good understanding of what Lines for Life does but also what other organizations that work with Lines for Life on different projects does as well. I really liked being able to help with and participate in the Oregon conference on Opioids + Other Drugs, Pain + Addiction Treatment as well as take part in the researching and writing of the Suicide Prevention Website.
What I wish was different
I wish that I could have stayed longer. Right after I left they were putting on a tribal opioid training that I wish I could have attended. I also wish I could have stayed to complete my work for the website.
Advice
One piece of advice would be to fully participate in all the different meetings and events as possible. The work that Lines for Life does is often done in conjunction with other organizations and it is very interesting and a great learning experience to take advantage of the collaboration and attend as many things as possible.
