Licking County Settlers

About Licking County Settlers

Prior to the Settlers inaugural season in 2006, Settlers founder Lou Mitchell had an idea to bring college baseball players from around the country to play in Licking County for the summer. The Settlers play In the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate league, a branch of the National Alliance of College Summer Baseball (NACSB). In 2008, the team made Don Edwards Park in Newark, Ohio their NEW home after playing the first two seasons in Granville, Ohio.

The Settlers organization is focused on providing a fun and safe atmosphere for the Licking County community. Each year, the team hosts a youth baseball camp at the beginning of the season.

In the last nine seasons, the Settlers have appeared in six post-season tournaments. The 2012 Settlers claimed the organization’s first ever GLSCL championship. The 2013 and 2014 squads went on to defend their titles to give the organization back-to-back-to-back championships.

Director of Ticket Sales

May 2019 - August 2019 Newark, OH
“I enjoyed getting to obtain experience in the sports industry and meeting new people. I also got to watch some great baseball and learn a lot about the local community and the fan base for the Settlers. I also was able to oversee merchandise sales and manage the inventory for that which for me I enjoyed because I was able to manage something of significance. ”
