Finance Intern
November 2018 - September 2019 • Zeeland, MI
What I liked
Great experience. Had the opportunity to have a lot of responsibility and work as if I was a full time employee. I got a chance to implement what I have learned at Calvin in my accounting education.
What I wish was different
I wish it wasn't a 35 minute commute every day. Other than that, I wish the on boarding processes would have gotten me up to speed a little bit faster. It took me almost a month to fully understand all of their systems and processes.
Advice
Never be afraid to ask questions. I learned a ton just from asking other employees how to do something or ask for help when I was stuck. People are usually very happy to help and it makes a huge difference.

Engineering Intern
May - August 2018 • Zeeland, MI
What I liked
I liked the fact that I was pushed outside of my comfort zone which put me into a position to learn more about who I am as a person as well as an engineer.
What I wish was different
I wish that the company had more of a traditional corporate structure. This made it difficult to get things done as well as gain insight on what to do when work slows. Also, I wasn't a big fan of manufacturing, I'd rather do design work.
Advice
If you like freedom in a job, this is the place to work. If you like to be told what to do, this is not the place for you.
