Admissions Counselor

June 2019 • Pocatello, ID

What I liked

I am still currently working in this position and I absolutely love it! Being able to work with high school students and help them be able to come to college has become my new dream career.

What I wish was different

Nothing, everything worked out great!

Advice

It has been a weird transition going from being a student to having a career. The hardest part for me has been having a healthy work/life balance. For the first month I would take my work home every single day and work for another 3 hours after work. Don't do that. It is so important to find a healthy balance and make sure you still have a personal life outside of work!

Global Studies Research Assistant

June - October 2019 • Pocatello, ID

What I liked

I really got to set my own hours for this job. I was given an assignment and an estimate of the amount of hours it should take me, so I was able to work for a little one day, or work for long time the next.

What I wish was different

The only thing I wish could have been different was how often an assignment was sent my way. I had kind of hoped the next assignment would have been ready and waiting for me as soon as I finished the previous.

Advice

I would advise anyone going in to this job to be ready to go through information and to be prepared to stare at spreadsheets. It does get tiring on your eyes, so please take breaks from staring at a screen.
