I really liked the freedom I had to construct a curriculum according to the children I was tutoring. It was daunting at first, but it was very informative and prepared me for other similar tasks. The close interactions I had with the children I was tutoring, the other kids I interacted with in the various camps, and the other staff at the Family Center were all helpful.
What I wish was different
I wish there had been a few more resources for my age range or better structure that would help other tutors construct their own curricula.
Advice
Take complete advantage of the freedom and interactions you get with the kids and your teaching experience.
