CoStar Group

Finance and Accounting Intern

June - August 2023 • Richmond, VA

What I liked

CoStar Group values diversity and the campus recruiting staff was wonderful! Us interns got to undergo many professional development sessions and social events. As for the work, it was very manageable and everyone was extremely helpful when I did have questions.

What I wish was different

I wish that I was given more work early on in the internship. It took a little while for me to start getting into various projects.

Advice

If you get an internship offer from CoStar Group, you should definitely take it! The environment is unmatched and you will make a huge impact on the company even as an intern.

Social Media Copywriter

June - August 2022 • Richmond, VA

What I liked

I enjoyed this entire experience, and honestly have nothing to complain about. The pay, the people, the environment, it's all amazing. This was my first office experience, and it put my standards through the roof.

What I wish was different

Nothing! This was an entire internship program, so the entire experience was catered to the interns having fun and enjoying the experience, and I definitely did- so much that I returned to the full time position.

Advice

Meet people! Introduce yourself and get to know other interns, as well as whoever you are interning under. Everyone is super friendly and making connections really makes all the difference! Ask questions too!

Content Specialist Intern

June - August 2022 • Atlanta, GA

What I liked

I loved working at CoStar Group. Right off the bat, I felt welcomed and so supported. During my time in Atlanta, I had the opportunity to work on professional projects that had actual company importance. In fact, my work is still active on the company site! I loved feeling like I had a snippet of real world experience and knowing that my work would benefit me down the road. I also had significant networking opportunities - I met with different department heads, talked to coworkers about their expertise, and had time to speak to managers about my performance. If I could give six stars, I would.

What I wish was different

I wish the interns had more time to collaborate. While we were connected via GroupMe, we didn’t have the opportunity to get to know each other very well while in office.

Advice

You get out of your experience EXACTLY what you put into it! Network, take risks, and ask questions. People in senior positions are MORE than willing to meet and give advice if you ask them. Coworkers will gladly grab lunch and share their stories. Opportunities may not fall into your lap, but they might be handed to you if you ask. Never be afraid to take on a challenge, and never think that any piece of work is above you. Stretching yourself is how you learn.

Marketing Research Intern

June - August 2021 • Richmond, VA

What I liked

Costar will do everything in their power to make sure you have a memorable experience. I will never forget the friends and connections I was able to make through the lively, fun, and supportive culture at Costar. I thoroughly enjoyed the professional development seminars they provided for the interns as well as the internal professional networking with top ranking members they granted me and my peers with. The rotation of each research department gives you incredible insight to many facets of the CRE market as well as exposure to many post graduate opportunities that they have available. I could not have enjoyed my summer with Costar anymore, it was truly a great experience.

What I wish was different

Nothing

Advice

Make the most of it. What you put in is what you get out.
