City Schools Sports Association

About City Schools Sports Association

The CSSA is a Non Profit organization that was founded in 2019 with the intent to provide quality sports programming to the students of New York City. We currently have various sports programs across the boroughs for both middle and high school athletes. Our athletic league aims to motivate and empower students to develop leadership, well-being, sportsmanship, and interpersonal skills. All while nurturing a sense of civic responsibility by giving back to the community.

Throughout our organizations tenure, we have worked with several interns through Fordham University and the "Serving the City" initiative. This program provides students with equitable access to internship opportunities in New York City’s arts and culture sectors.

Several of our interns have been hand picked by Fordham University to be highlighted and showcased on their website, which you can find here: https://www.fordham.edu/academics/undergraduate-education/serving-the-city-internships/about/

Reviews

Sports Media Photography Intern

January 2024 - May 2024 New York City, NY
“This was a wonderful opportunity to explore my interests of sports media and marketing strategy, as my photographs were used directly for league promotion on various social media channels. I learned extensively about what images work well to convey desired marketing messages, and got a lot of experience working collaboratively with other interns on the team. ”

Social Media Intern

October 2022 - December 2022 New York City, NY
“My experience interning at the City School Sports Association has been conducive to my personal and professional growth. As a social media intern, I focused on revamping the social media pages to increase brand identity and consistency. The working culture was empowering because I felt my ideas were heard, especially with my advisors' incredible support and feedback. It has been great to work in an exciting sports environment and create compelling content.”
