I absolutely love the community that this organization has established. I have had such a great opportunity to interact with new people and get to know them, The people working there and the residents make me love coming to work each day.

What I liked
I was able to schedule a smaller amount of hours during the school year. Pick-up pay is very good.
What I wish was different
I usually work the long shift, which means I have to commit 8hrs at a time
Advice
try to choose shifts that you can work into your schedule year-round, not just what fits with your class schedule per semester

What I liked
I had the opportunity to interact with the residents of the assisted living facility. This provided me the chance to understand a new population of people, and navigate working with people I hadn't worked with before.
What I wish was different
I thought I would have more interaction with the residents; I got to talk with them a little bit during meal times, but the interactions were limited.
Advice
I would say to anyone that it is beneficial to go out of your way to have interactions with the residents. My position didn't allow for much communication with the residents, but during the times I went out of my way to talk to them, I learned a lot and felt rewarded in the work I was doing, though it seemed unimportant at times.
