Boy Scouts of America Jayhawk Area Council

About Boy Scouts of America Jayhawk Area Council

Every summer across the United States, thousands of Scouts head off to participate in the yearly event we call summer camp. The Jayhawk Area Council is committed to making this experience the highlight of a Scout’s year in Scouting, right here in Kansas. Thank you for choosing Camp Jayhawk.

Camp Jayhawk has something for every age of Scout, whether you’re an 11 year old attending your first summer camp or an experienced camper back for your third or fourth year. Scouts can participate in merit badges and fun activities in the Aquatics, Outdoor Skills, Ecology, and Shooting Sports areas and hone their skills in programs like swimming, boating, rifle shooting, leatherwork, fishing, and many more

“Camp Jayhawk which is the scout side of the camp is one of the best summer experiences you'll have in your life! The staff/coworkers you'll meet will be family to you and all the staff just want what's best for the camp and the kids. The quality of season staff and volunteer cannot be praised enough! The facility is on the older side but it still is a large camp with 300 acres of land with a fairly large lake for boating and swimming. Whatever your skills the camp will work with to find a position best suited to you. Overall I worked there four years and I can truly say it changed my life for the better! If your looking for a job to gain experience in a lot of areas and explore different options with so many training available like lifeguarding, Leave no trace/outdoor ethics, medical/cpr, leadership, and so many more this is the place for you.”
