I really liked the culture of the company. Everyone was so nice, friendly, and helpful. It allowed to me really feel that I could succeed in my role.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have done more event planning. I found myself doing more recruiting and sales, which personally I felt just wasn’t for me.
Advice
The best thing about co-ops and internships is that they are only a few months long. This is perfect if you want to try out a new career field or if you discover you do not like your role.

I gained a wide skillset in terns of communication, public outreach, Google Sheets, and public speaking.
What I wish was different
I wish there was more time in the field as opposed to an office-based setting.

Advocate for more field based settings, if that's what you prefer. Once I spoke up about wanting to be in more site based areas, they accommodated me quickly.

Event Coordinator Intern

What I liked
The chance in making a huge difference with underprivileged kids in the area. The Gala (fundraiser) at the end of the summer was a very rewarding experience to be apart of. Our work was very appreciated by everyone!
What I wish was different
More planning and organization for the interns and sit down meetings with our supervisor to learn more about what she did.
Advice
A lot of tedious work involved (detail-oriented). You're helping with a lot of miscellaneous work to help everyone in the office.
