About American Council of Trustees and Alumni

The American Council of Trustees and Alumni (ACTA) is an independent, nonprofit organization committed to academic freedom, excellence, and accountability at America's colleges and universities.

Launched in 1995, we are the only organization that works with alumni, donors, trustees, and education leaders across the United States to support liberal arts education, uphold high academic standards, safeguard the free exchange of ideas on campus, and ensure that the next generation receives a philosophically rich, high-quality college education at an affordable price.

Academic Affairs Intern

June 2021 - July 2021 Washington, DC
“I loved the work environment and the support all the team members had for one another. It was definitely a workplace setting that allowed me to thrive and show my best self.”

Curriculum Improvement Intern

June 2019 - August 2019 Washington, DC
“The office welcomed and engaged interns socially and intellectually. Every Wednesday the staff would take time aside from their schedule and play Trivial Pursuit. The staff welcomed questions on various topics. I also enjoyed how several members held career discussions. Some of my coworkers and I participated in a discussion on whether to pursue Ph.D work in the future. The discussion has not dissuaded me from pursing one, but it has made think about the cost.”
