My voice here is very respected. This is unlike other internships where interns are tasked with menial jobs and are not a part of the staff. Apprentices here are truly a part of the team and we are always given challenging work. Every day is a learning experience, and I am so grateful for that.
What I wish was different
Nothing.
Advice
Always apply to internships even if you don't meet all of the experience or education requirements. Internships ARE a learning experience, and employers understand that. I do public policy research at The Children's Campaign. I am a psychology major with no background in public policy, just an interest in the field. I told them that in my interview and they admired my eagerness and willingness to learn about the subject. Always go after a dream internship, even if it seems impossible to attain.
