Are you looking to make a difference while working on real environmental solutions for a Minnesota business?

Please read below and consider the MnTAP Intern Program!

The Minnesota Technical Assistance Program or "MnTAP" is seeking Junior and Senior Science and Engineering students to lead their own environmental consulting projects at industrial facilities in the state of Minnesota (~15 individual host site internships will be available for summer 2024).

  • Each intern will work at their host company to learn processes and identify solutions that reduce waste reduction, prevent pollution, conserve water and/or save energy.
  • Interns work for MnTAP as consultants, but work at their host facilities full-time (40 hrs/week) for about 12.5 weeks during the summer (500 total project hours).
  • Interns lead each project, where they are given base objectives and can apply their own critical thinking and creativity towards solutions.
  • Each intern receives guidance from an on-site host company supervisor and 1 MnTAP staff scientist or engineer.
  • Each intern submits a final report, delivers final presentations and has their project executive summary posted in the MnTAP Solutions publication
  • Compensation: $19/hr + a $1,500 stipend payment delivered once all project requirements are completed (this equates to ~$22/hr total in pre-tax earnings).

*Note: Locations of host company sites will include various cities within the state of Minnesota. The specific locations provided in this posting may not be exact.
