SPRING: Remote Communications Internships

The virtual communications internship is for young professionals who want to… 

  • Use your communication skills in the USA while serving an international organization. 
  • Get practical experience with current communication and public relation techniques. 
  • Experience shadowing, mentoring, and training opportunities with successful professionals.

Operation Mobilization (OM) is a multicultural organization. We strive to live all of life on mission with God in the everyday places of life and work where access to the gospel is limited (or non-existent).  

Though interns will not physically be together, check-ins and group meetings help build community. Several internships are available each semester. A stipend is provided upon satisfactory completion of the internship. 

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Write blogs, articles, newsletters, and other materials
  • Maintain websites and social media
  • Assist in writing and formatting project proposals
  • Liaise with the regional and international teams regarding shared resources and campaigns
  • Create interview preparation materials
  • Conduct interviews
  • Utilize various media communications skills, i.e., videography, photography, journalism, and graphic design

Qualifications and Skills 

  • Strong verbal and communication skills
  • Solid understanding of social media
  • Attention to detail and excellence in media quality.
  • Applicant must submit an online portfolio of his/her work for review and evaluation.
  • Completed Sophomore or Junior year of college or Recent Graduate
  • Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Graphic Design, or Journalism major
  • All interns must formally accept and abide by OM’s Statement of Faith for the duration of the internship.

Qualifications of on-field supervisor: 

As an intern, you will work directly for OM management team members who have experience in the corporate world in their field and in international nonprofits. 

Accreditation: 

  • Degree Credit is available upon the approval of your university/college supervisors.
