Business Operations Intern

June 2018 • Topeka, KS

What I liked

The workplace is a great environment. You get to to work with people from all sorts of different backgrounds, who bring their experience into everything they do. This was a great first internship experience.

What I wish was different

The work was challenging, and enjoyable. There were high levels of independence in my job, with enough support that I never felt like I couldn't handle my job. The only things that could be better, would be making the mentoring program more structured and making the internship experiences a little more consistent.

Advice

Come in prepared to work and have fun. What you get out of it is equal to what you put in.

Software Quality Assurance Analyst Intern

What I liked

I loved all of the special trainings that took place for the interns at SE2, such as Lean Six Sigma, personality type, strength finders, seven habits of a highly effective person, etc. I enjoyed working on real world tasks for the company. I liked attending TopCity Intern events.

What I wish was different

Sometimes I had to wait on people to get back to me on things.

Advice

Take advantage of being an intern. If you want to meet with an SME to learn about their role and what they know, ask them. No one will say no to an intern.
