The position was very independent. After going step by step through your first few pieces of work you then have the creative freedom to do what you want with the material provided. This freedom was greatly appreciated and helped me develop my editing skills. The provided feedback was also helpful in developing a style, fixing mistakes, and providing analysis from the audience's view. Everyone that worked here was fantastic to work with and very helpful.
What I wish was different
Slightly more variety would have been nice. A lot of the days were spent doing the same thing over and over, which is rather minor in the big scheme of things.
Advice
Take everything in from this experience. It's a rather basic internship to start, but the availability to do other things like field shoots and attend press junkets are always a possibility. Learn the area, make friends, ask questions, and try to make as many contacts as possible.

Video Editing Intern
June - August 2018 • Los Angeles, CA
What I liked
I liked how hands-on it was. I filmed and edited the show, even though I was just an intern. It's also right smack in the middle of Hollywood.
What I wish was different
I wish the office was a bit bigger, but that's my only gripe.
