Intentional about development of interns. Learned about the nature of HR in a nonprofit and had opportunities to shadow and gain hands-on experience.

More planning and explanation of daily/weekly expectations so I knew what to expect each day.

Work with as many people as possible, because everyone has relevant advice to offer and experience to help you grow as a nonprofit professional.
