Nothing. This was the worst job that I’ve ever head. They treat the employees poorly and keep them underpaid for profit.

I wish I looked more carefully before accepting this position from handshake

Always keep your options open, and If you’re not happy with your job there’s no reason you should stay.

What I liked

I was treated as a real software engineer, I got real world experience, I got a nice salary and plenty of perks

What I wish was different

I wish I had a project that was more contained. The one they gave me was pretty all-over-the-place, which was fine, but made it hard to get it done in a timely fashion.

Advice

Make sure to have fun! And spend some of your time gathering information about working there in the future.

Incredible creativity and networking opportunities with a lot of independence. I also was able to work at home and work events while learning a ton about the inner workings of Indy!

Nothing! I loved every second!

Advice

It’s a small team, so go beyond the basic tasks you’re given - suggest creative ideas that you can implement with talents that set you apart and you’ll be seen as a valued member.

The full time engineers and other interns were amazing. The location is the best in the US, the office is great, and I made lasting memories. The tech stack is amazing and I was challenged at every step. Never felt so welcomed by a team.

What I wish was different

Wish it was a longer internship!

Advice

It's worth spending time to make memories, you can save all your life and retire earlier, but if you saved so much that you kept yourself from enjoying life, then what was the point?

What I liked

This experience enhanced my communication skills, both written and oral, because I spent most of my workday communicating with current and potential clients about the Yelp advertising product. I enjoyed the team-oriented organizational culture of Yelp and the consistent feedback provided by my manager. I particularly enjoyed the trainings because this is where I learned the most from experienced leaders.

What I wish was different

I wish that the internship was more tailored toward the individual intern's growth .

Advice

This internship teaches you how to sell with conviction, a skill applicable to every career. This skill is important to young people because we need to be able to sell ourselves during job interviews!
