Year Up

Program Coordinator Intern

May - August 2019 • San Jose, CA

What I liked

The support I received from my co-workers allowed me to feel comfortable in growing who I am as a professional. I had the opportunity to do things I've never done before and learn more about my capabilities.

What I wish was different

Nothing, over all an amazing experience

Advice

If there is any opportunity for you to develop and learn a new skill, take that opportunity and run with it!

Innovation Intern

May - July 2018 • Boston, MA

What I liked

The environment and community atmosphere at Year Up was incredibly supportive, and their mission is amazing. I was also given an immense amount of independence to complete projects and given great responsibility to get results and analysis that would affect the organization.

What I wish was different

I wish I had spend more time networking with other staff. The internship was shortened due to the leave of my supervisor, so I did not get that chance.

Advice

Be proactive and find ways to go beyond what your project initatilly entails. Also be sure to have good “upstream” communication with your supervisor (especially when working independently) so you know you’re on the right track.
