I loved the people I worked with and the fast paced environment of the restaurant. I also loved all of our guests and all of the food.
What I wish was different
I worked almost 40 hours every week which was a lot but also made good money so I can’t complain too much
Advice
Do it!! Hostessing helps build customer service and people skills and is so worth it

What I wish was different
I wish that hours were more consistent. We are given a time to come in, but it is unknown when shifts end, we are let off only when it is convenient.
Advice
A host at a restaurant like this is good for an entry level job, but if you have more experience already it won't be enjoyable.

What I liked
Working at YH was a great experience because it was time for me to grow my skills having to work with people and on my communication.
What I wish was different
I wish I was able to experience working another position as well as hosting just to help build better relationships with the guests.
Advice
Although some shifts might be hard, the good ones always out weigh the bad.

What I liked
Managers are willing to work with my school schedule. They always ask me how am I doing in school and are very open to let me go early if I need to study.
What I wish was different
More opportunities to become a server. More transparency with it.
Advice
It requires you to have a lot of interpersonal/social skills. Overtime is paid, but be vocal to the managers of what your availability is so they don't over schedule you.
