Developmental Science Summer Intern

June - July 2018 • New Haven, CT

What I liked

I was able to gain intensive experience in my own lab, but also got to hear about the various types of research being performed through the programming of the internship itself. Through the talks that were offered specifically to my program and through the discussions that followed, I got to learn a great deal about the realm of developmental science and how much it encompasses.

What I wish was different

I had a wonderful experience at Yale, and there is nothing I would have changed.

Advice

Don't be afraid to take advantage of the opportunity! Working at the Child Study Center gave me access to some of the most cutting edge research in the field of developmental science, which spans public health, epidemiology, genetics, and neuroscience among many other areas of interest. The PIs at Yale are incredibly knowledgable and love to share their work, so ask questions not only within your own lab but to other researchers as well.
