Business Systems Analyst Intern

June - August 2021 • New York City, NY

What I liked

First, it was a remote internship, and I probably would not have even applied if it was not remote because I live in Illinois and moving to New York for an internship would have been way to expensive. Second, the people here are amazing. Everyone wants to see you succeed and they are always willing to help you in any way that they can. Finally, I learned a lot from it. I was treated as part of the team and given real work that made an impact in the business. Even though it was a small impact, I learned a lot and I feel like I have gained skills I can apply in my future school work and my next job.

What I wish was different

Like I said before, it was remote, which was great for me but might not be so great for other people. You have to hold yourself accountable to getting your work done. Even though you may not be working side-by-side with someone, it is really easy to reach out via slack or email if you need help with anything. This was my first internship so I don't really have anything to compare it to, but I found it to be a great experience.

Advice

Ask questions and reach out. The people here want to help you, so don't be afraid to ask stupid questions. Talk to people and network, you may end up needing their help in the future too!

Advice

Even if your experience is fully online set aside time to meet everyone on the team in one on one meetings. You should feel comfortable in reaching out to anybody that you think may be able to help you out. At WW there is an emphasis on creating a collaborative environment and everyone is always happy to help.

Product Management Intern

June 2021 • New York City, NY

What I liked

I really enjoyed the way the program was arranged. I got to experience what it was like to be a full-time PM, by being included in team meetings and the work I did over the summer.

What I wish was different

I wish I had had the chance to see the other interns in person, but because I don't reside in New York, I wasn't able to.

Advice

The experience will be what you make of it. There are assigned daily tasks and projects, but there is plenty of time available to network and learn more about the company and gain knowledge about your personal interests.

U.S. Brand and Digital Marketing Intern

May 2019 • New York City, NY

What I liked

I love the atmosphere of a corporate environment and getting to meet many professionals. I also am happy that I've made lasting connections that will most likely help me in the future. I've also learned so much about the industry, corporate life, marketing, and the company itself.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had worked on bigger assignments during the summer when I was available versus now in the fall when I am busy with school as well. I also wish I was able to form better connections with the other interns that were here during the summer.

Advice

Working at a large company for the first time seems overwhelming and can be at times, but it gets easier with every day that goes by. Also, you may not always get a full time offer or even want to recieve a full time offer from the company you intern for, yet still have a great experience.
