I had the opportunity to learn more about science, which has made me feel a lot more confident in the classes I take as a Microbiology major. Everything I was able to do in lab was hands on and made me use critical thinking skills to proceed with the research project. It was great and made me feel very independent, but a mentor was always there to lead me in the right direction.
What I wish was different
I do not think I could have asked for anything to be different!
Advice
I am very grateful to have been able to participate in undergraduate research because it has opened so many doors for me in school, and in choosing what I want to do as a career. I would advise peers to go for it, even if you do not know a ton about science because it is a great learning opportunity!
