More hours, but it is a new station, so the lack of hours makes sense.
Advice
Don't take someone's attitude personally, especially while working customer service. You have no idea what they experienced leading up to seeing you that could have influenced their attitude. Be understanding and neutral. Try to treat each customer like they are the first one of the day.
