What I liked

I loved being able to gain professional experience while being able to participate in service and build relationships. I was able to further my career by doing something I was passionate about. It changed my careers goals and I hope to engage in humanitarian assistance in some form in the future.

What I wish was different

Due to the structure of the organization and the tasks needed to be done, it was a lot of hours at once. But this time I got to spend was invaluable and if it wasn't for school, I would have loved to do it all day long.

Advice

It is an amazing experience. If you are passionate about supporting or helping various international groups who face oppression, this is the internship for you. You got hands on work in resettlement working with government agencies such as DSS, administrative experience in the office, and relational skills working directly with people at their home or doing simple tasks.
