The work environment was great for a retail job, my coworkers were great, and I enjoyed talking to customers.

What I wish was different

I wish that there were less rude customers, there were several who came in for various reasons and were rude to me and my coworkers due to circumstances outside of our control.

Advice

I would say that multitasking is great skill to have when doing this job.

Seeing all of the international brands and selling to customers!

What I wish was different

It's been tough in the pandemic. Most customers wear masks, but some don't, which makes me feel bad. The company did end up instilling a mask policy, and they enforced. it.

Advice

Retail can be a place to develop many skills: communication with others, team building, time management - to name a few

What I liked

I really enjoyed the work environment. Everything was laid back and I always felt comfortable scheduling time to talk with people from other departments. I also looked forward to the executive lunches where the intern team was able to eat and converse with members of the executive team.

What I wish was different

I wish that the start date was a little bit later. It was right after my final exams while I was moving to a new apartment, which was stressful.

Advice

Don't be afraid to reach out to people from other departments you are interested in to learn more about their position!

What I liked

The people made my experience. My team was extremely invested in my career development and growth.

What I wish was different

Whether I was going to be receiving a offer to come back to the company or not. It was very clear that I was one of the best interns they have had and I know this due to my review and feedback throughout the course of the internship. At the end of the internship, the reiterated that they would love to have me back, but that they didn't actually have a position for me made. I was confused, but never raised a question which looking back now, I wish I did.

Advice

The first week is going to be an adjustment. The first week anywhere will be an adjustment, so do not give yourself a hard time.

Advice

Work where you need to so eventually you can work where you want to. That being said, also always look for opportunities to work where you want to, and reach out even if you think you're out of reach.
