Corporate Sales Development

What I liked

I received a unmatchable two week long training session where I learned a great foundation of sales skills. I also was given the chance to make an incredible impact on the company, working with real potential customers. As an intern, I was able to bring in a deal opportunity for the company valued at $700k! I never thought that I could have the opportunity to make such difference as a college student.

What I wish was different

Nothing.

Advice

Start looking for internships early, and put yourself out there for roles you're interested in even if you have hesitations about your qualifications. As a journalism major, I had my doubts about whether I would get an offer for a tech sales internship at a power player company like Workday. I'm happy I went for it, and ended up not only getting the internship but receiving a full time offer to come back after graduation.

Salesforce Developer Intern

What I liked

Loved the work culture, the project, and the learning experience. I also enjoyed the Intern events and the free snacks :)

What I wish was different

I wish we had a longer internship with a rotation program to rotate between different teams and areas to give us a greater learning exeprience.

Advice

I would encourage each person to not be afraid to take on challenges. I came in really nervous about the work I would be doing and whether I was fit to handle the amount of work. However, by the end of my internship, I felt like I grew a lot both on my technical and soft skills side.
