What I liked

I loved the opportunity to grow in leadership skills by mentoring peers and students. My work environment was fast-paced, fun, but most of all, spiritually rewarding. Woodlands Camp is an absolutely amazing place where you get to see God move and change lives every day.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had more information going into the summer about what my job would entail. It was a new position created that summer so I felt unprepared at the beginning. However, my supervisor and I created the job description along the way.

Advice

Work at a camp one summer of your college experience if you can! I love Woodlands because whether you are a counselor or on support staff, you are interacting with kids and telling them about Jesus while being mentored in some way.

I wish there was more breaks for the staff to hangout with each other.

I learned that being uncomfortable is often the best place to learn how to grow.
